Viscerally, emotionally and intellectually, the waters of Key West motivate me to paint what I see and feel. Each of these works is the result of my hypersensitivity to visually changing colors, and thus the titles of my works. The color of the water in Key West changes minute to minute. I have never seen anything like it, and once observed, it is breathtaking for a colorist. This is due to the combination of intense sun, very shallow clear water, a white, reflective seabed, and dynamic atmospheric condition. The following works are a reflection of this motivation.
